Spencer – Owner/Director/Instructor (E-RYT 200)
Spencer Snakard’s path to yoga began as a dancer, studying dance for 17 years. Loving most aspects of dance, she eventually stopped, deciding that the shock value of amazing moves wasn’t worth the cost to her body or soul. She transitioned to more of a fitness focus with weight training, running, and teaching aerobics, but eventually had to stop most activities due to wear and tear on her joints.
Spencer discovered yoga in 1997 and was hooked from the first class, finding a perfect balance between physical challenge, beautiful lines, and eastern philosophy. Spencer has been teaching since 2003, opened her first studio in 2005, and completed her 200 hour teacher training in 2006 at The Health Advantage Yoga Center in Herndon, VA. She continues to study and develop her practice by attending classes and workshops. Spencer loves the way yoga simultaneously works the body, quiets the mind, and nurtures the spirit.
